I am passionate about supporting families in their healing journeys and working not just with the individual but the whole system. I approach clients with the empathy, unconditional positive regard, and honesty that provides the container from which to explore our inner selves safely. I believe the most important relationship we have is the one we have with ourselves and strive to empower individuals lead from their inner Self. We are all unique individuals and I believe in supporting growth through developing new relationships with all parts of ourselves. Finding the right treatment can feel vulnerable and scary and work to bring intention into my work with families during this time.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and Maryland. I have been in the therapeutic services field for close to 10 years working with adolescents, young adults, and families in their journeys toward growth and change. Prior to starting as a therapeutic consultant, I worked across multiple programs and levels of care including wilderness therapy programs, IOP/PHP outpatient care, and private practice.
I have been trained and maintain development in the following areas:
- Dialectical behavioral therapy
- Internal Family Systems
- Cognitive behavioral therapy
- Experiential therapeutic approaches
- Knowledge of local and national private mental health industry professionals, programs, and practices
I am an avid outdoorsman and will take any opportunity to get into nature. Nature has been a powerful force in my life, and I believe that nature can be a powerful teacher and provide transformational experiences. I spend my time with my husband and two dogs Hooper and Dexter. They are also avid hikers and accompany us on all our adventures. When I am not outdoors, I enjoy relaxing with a good book and taking time to connect with friends and family.
